Remembering the Good Old Days
Positive, cherished events and experiences from the past are often connected to the pleasure one experienced eating their favorite candy – often with a childhood best friend or family member. Did you know that “Boomers” (born between 1946 and 1955) comprise the only generation to have grown up with only three major television networks – CBS, NBC and ABC. No generation older or younger experienced this common technology amongst youth. Children growing up in Alaska, California or New York shared many of the same glamorized televised moments while learning identical cultural and social messages.
Candy and sodas were often bought at the local "Filling" station and with a fill-up at any gas station you got...
The gas pumped for you, your windshield cleaned, oil & fluids checked, tires checked and a free map if you wanted it.
Folks tend to have very strong feelings about their favorite childhood candy. They will often see something from their childhood, and it triggers memories associated with the first time they had a sweet treat like a Lollipop or a Chocolate bar or a Candy Cane.
