Hammond's Candies started in the 1920's. Business boomed during the Roaring 20's and even though the Great Depression was full of problems and changes, Hammondís went right on producing candy. Even in extremely trying times, people could find enough money for the simple and sweet pleasure that candy brought. If people were going to buy it, it had to be good and their motto was "Nothing is more important than quality." This focus on quality candy kept the Hammond's small factory open through out the entire Depression.
